The reason for these is simple, these site has a current google rank of "6" and an alexa rank of around 400. If you publish the same information on a rank two or three or four web site for that matter, chances are that you might never see it on google first page.

You do not only need to write though, you can submit links pointing to your site in another very interesting way. Having a lot of links pointing to your website from a lot of authority sites i.e. sites with a page rank of "5" and above, makes your site climb the rankings in the search engines as well. The Google search robot comes to these sites more often and spiders them more deeply than if you were, say, focusing your efforts on article syndication alone. Every time you publish an article on your site, create some tags for your keywords pointing to icerocket and technorati repctively.
